Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our platform
1What is HelmBook?
HelmBook is a comprehensive ERP platform for pleasure yacht fleet management. It combines full double-entry accounting based on the Hellenic General Chart of Accounts (ΕΓΛΣ) with modules for fleet, procurement, maintenance, crew, documents, and consolidated reporting. It is specifically designed for yachting companies under Greek jurisdiction (ΝΕΠΑ and ΙΚΕ).
2What is ΕΓΛΣ and why is it important?
ΕΓΛΣ (Hellenic General Chart of Accounts) is the official accounting standard used in Greece. HelmBook uses ΕΓΛΣ as the foundation for all accounting entries, ensuring your books are fully compliant with Greek tax and accounting requirements. Each company gets its own chart of accounts with common numbering for easy consolidation.
3Can I manage multiple companies?
Yes. HelmBook is designed for multi-company management. You can manage unlimited companies (ΝΕΠΑ and ΙΚΕ), each with its own accounting books, inventory, and transactions. At the same time, the system provides a consolidated group view for management oversight and financial analysis.
4How do inter-company transactions work?
HelmBook supports full inter-company transactions, including expense allocations, fund transfers, balance settlements, and services between group companies. Transactions can be processed with or without invoices, and the system automatically generates the correct journal entries in each affected company.
5Does HelmBook support ΝΕΠΑ and ΙΚΕ?
Yes. HelmBook fully supports both company types. ΝΕΠΑ entities can own yachts, while ΙΚΕ companies handle commercial, management, and support activities. The accounting foundation is the same for both types — the difference only affects reporting and tax presentation.
6Can I import existing data?
Yes. HelmBook supports bulk data import through predefined XLSX templates for companies, yachts, customers, suppliers, employees, banks, opening balances, and more. The system validates data before import and provides clear feedback on any errors.
